JUNIORS @ SKYLIMIT YOKOHAMA RACE TEAM : BART VAN HAEREN & MAXIME SELS2013-01-21

Met Skylimit events hebben we een missie : Autosport mogelijk maken voor iedereen. Tijdens onze trackdays kan iedereen van deze mooie sport proeven en plezier maken. De getalenteerde rijders proberen we dan te begeleiden in ons race team. Zo stelden we reeds ons meisjes team voor. Nu kunnen we ook 2 talentrijke jongeren voorstellen : Bart Van Haeren en Maxime Sels.

With Skylimit Events we have a mission : Make motorsport affordable for everyone. At our trackdays everyone has the possibility to learn and have fun. But the talented ones we want to help into our race team. After presenting our ladys team, we can also announce 2 fast and talented juniors. Bart Van Haeren and Maxime Sels.

Eerst Bart Van Haeren even voorstellen : Deze jonge man werd net 20 jaar oud. Hij is aan zijn tweede seizoen toe bij het Skylimit Yokohama Race Team. Dit zal het jaar van de bevestiging zijn want hij kon vriend en vijand vorig jaar enkele keren zwaar verbazen met zijn talent. 

First to introduce is Bart Van Haeren. This only 20 year old driver will drive his second season in our team. Despite his young age he could impress everyone a few time last year.  

Zijn carrière met de auto's begon in 2010. Zo nam hij deel in Spa en Donington. Mooiste resultaat was een 3de plaats in de Bi-Place klasse tijdens de 25 uren in Spa.

His career in cars started in 2010 when he competed in the VW Fun Cup in Spa and Donington. Best result was a 3rd place in the Spa 25 hours.

In 2011 proefde hij van enkele wagens en kampioenschappen. Eerst was er de kennismaking met de Europese GT4 Cup met een BMW M3 van het DVB team.  

In 2011 he drove in different cars and championships. First there was the European GT4 championship in a BMW M3 of DVB racing. 

Then he competed in the Spa 12 hour race of the BTCS championship with a Seat Supercopa.

Hij nam ook deel met een Seat Supercopa aan de 12 uren race BTCS in Francorchamps.

Een topklassering kwam er tijdens de Zolder 1000 km met deze Renault Clio van Trax Racing.

2012 stond dan helemaal in teken van het nieuwe BRCC kampioenschap met een Porsche 996 Cup in de GT Challenger klasse. Een pole in de klasse, enkele super start zoals hier waarbij hij 8 plaatsen won. 4 klasse podia behaalde hij op weg naar een derde plaats in het kampioenschap.

2012 he competed in one of the Skylimit Yokohama Race Team Porsches 996 Cup in the GT Challenger class of the new BRCC championship. On his way to a third place in class he got 4 podium finishes. Most impressive was his pole and some super starts like on this photo where he won 8 places in a few 100 meter. 

Bart Van Haeren gaat met zekerheid één van onze aller snelste piloten zijn in 2013. Wie zijn teamgenoot wordt staat nog niet helemaal vast maar één ding is zeker. Hij zal snel moeten zijn om Bart een beetje te kunnen bijbenen. Het is voor ons als team een enorme uitdaging om met deze getalenteerde piloot samen te werken.

Bart Van Haeren will for sure be one our fastest drivers. Who will be his team mate is not sure yet. Let's hope he is fast so he can help Bart on his way to some great results. For us it is a pleasure to work with a talented guy like him.

Onze tweede junior die we willen voorstellen is Maxime Sels. Deze 23 jarige piloot uit Mechelen begon na wat jaren karting op zijn 18de met het rijden op circuit met een Renault Clio en een Formule Renault. Dit was natuurlijk tijdens de Skylimit Trackdays.

The second junior we want to introduce is Maxime Sels. This 23 year old driver from Mechelen started driving with cars on his 18th after some years in karting. His first experiences with cars on a racetrack was with a Renault Clio and a Formula Renault. Of course during the Skylimit trackdays.

Deze Formule Renault werd overgenomen van Jordy Dodemont. Vooral tijdens de trackdays in Spa werd er met deze wagen gereden. 

The Formula Renault was an ex Jordy Dodemont. It was used a lot during the Skylimit trackdays in Spa.

Zijn echt race debuut kwam er in 2011 tijdens de 1000km van Zolder. Hieraan nam hij deel met de BMW M3 van QSR onder leiding van Stefaan Schoonjans. Ook de eerste races van het BGDC kampioenschap 2012 werden aangesneden met deze wagen. 

He made his race debut with the QSR BMW M3 of Stefaan Schoonjans during the Zolder 1000 km race in 2011. Also the first races of 2012 in the BGDC championship he raced with this car.

Dan kwam het BRCC debuut met de Chevrolet Cruze van BCC Mechelen. 

Then there was the debut in the BRCC championship with the Chevrolet Cruze of BCC Mechelen.

De doorbraak kwam dan eind 2012 toen hij voor het eerst in de Porsche 996 Cup stapte van het Skylimit Yokohama Race Team.

The breakthrough came when he competed at the end of 2012 when he competed the first time with a Porsche 996 Cup of the Skylimit Yokohama Race Team.

In de structuur van First Motorsport en met Skylimit coaching kan je enkel maar beter worden.

With an experieced team like First Motorsport and coaching by Skylimit Events you can only get better.

Het moeilijkste was natuurlijk de laatste stint in het donker. Maar Maxime werkte het foutloos af. Dit leidde tot een knappe tweede plaats in de klasse. 

The most difficult part came during the final stint in the dark. But Maxime finished the race without making one single mistake on his way to second place in the GT Challenger class.

Deze podium finish zorgt ervoor dat Maxime zeker verder gaat doen in 2013 met het Skylimit Yokohama Race Team. Voor een volledig seizoen BRCC en 24 Hours of Zolder is zijn budget nog niet toereikend maar hij is goed op weg om van dit seizoen zijn jaar van de doorbraak te maken. 

This podium finish made his will to join the team again in 2013 even bigger. His budget is not yet enough for the full BRCC championship combined with the 24 Hours of Zolder. But we are sure the great results will be coming this season!
